Omni Táxi Aéreo at Service of the Offshore Community during COVID-19

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Omni Táxi Aéreo (“Omni”), the largest and most diversified helicopter operator in Brazil is committed to adapting procedures and safely serving the entire offshore community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brazilian offshore installations are an essential part of the global energy infrastructure. There are more than 140 active offshore units that contribute with 93% of the production of Oil and Gas in Brazil, where each unit needs up to 200 professionals to operate safely. During this exceptional period, OMNI implemented new services to continue to ensure safety for the entire offshore community.

The following stand out:

  • • Establishment of an OMNI Crisis Office, which includes health technicians, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to monitor the health of all employees, adjust interruptions, control COVID-19 evacuation flights and communicate with the customer at real time;
  • • Reconfiguration of four AW139 and S76C helicopters, strategically positioned in Macaé and Rio de Janeiro, each with a nurse on board who will accompany the flights and ensure protocols, keeping the OMNI Health team informed about each COVID-19 Mission;
  • • Frequent and supervised hygiene and disinfection procedures for all bases and aircraft;
  • • Implementation and permanent improvement of the personal protective equipment policy suitable for each employee;
  • • In addition to fixed wing aircraft, ATR-42 (with separation procedures updated for COVID-19) for transporting workers between Macaé, Cabo Frio and Rio de Janeiro where air and land connections are partially interrupted due to the measures isolation.
